The Serra Gerace B&B, on the fifth floor of the Serra Gerace Palace is registered by the Liguria region in the prestigious “3 suns” category. It welcomes tourists, travellers and visitors for short or long vacations and for business stays.
Its luxurious setting will make you appreciate the historical and cultural environment of the well-known Palace and of the whole city. The family atmosphere will introduce you into everyday local life. You will become part of it and we will do our utmost so that you bring back the best souvenir.
The B&B has a large and bright lounge where breakfast is served every morning and where you can ask for books and guides to prepare your cultural and gastronomic visit of the city.
Our Rooms
The two rooms, very quiet, have each a private bathroom complete with all services: shower, hairdryer, free WI-FI, heating, air conditioning, bottle of water, kettle with tea and coffee, slippers and toiletries courtesy set.
The “Baldacchino” room is furnished with an antique wrought iron four posted double bed . Its headboard floral design is shown on our logo.
The “San Pancrazio” room is furnished in Montferrato countryside style : a double bed with a 1800 painted headboard, a chest of drawers and a wardrobe we brought back from our Piedmont farmhouse. From its windows you can enjoy the view of the “caruggi”typical life and of the splendid dome of San Pancrazio church.
Upon request, on both rooms, it is possible to add a single bed.
Our Breakfast
We offer a healthy Italian-style breakfast: coffee, tea, cake, “focaccia” served in the lounge from 8 am until 10 am.
On specific request and with adequate notice, we could review our timetable.
Please also inform in advance of any intolerances or food allergies to allow us the time to find, on reservation only, suitable products.
What to Do
Genoa is the city with the largest historical centre in Europe, which is worth discovering and experiencing fully. Here are some tips of what you can find close to our B&B and some links that may be of help:

Our Rates
Double rooms with breakfast: from € 90 to € 150 per night depending on the season and the services required.
Extra bed with breakfast: € 30.00.
Double room for single use: from € 60 to € 90 per night, breakfast included.
The new tourist tax is applied from April 16th, 2018 and is € 1.50 per person per night, excluding children up 14 years old. It is to be applied for a maximum of 8 consecutive nights in the same month period.

How to pay: by Bank Transfer, PayPal or Cash.
Please be advised that to confirm your booking we kindly ask you to pay 40% of the total amount as safety deposit. The balance will be due either before or upon your arrival.
In case you need to cancel your reservation, please note that, up to 7 days before the scheduled arrival and during the special periods, your deposit will be lost.
How to Join us
To reach us from Genoa Cristoforo Colombo airport you can take the Volabus shuttle. Tickets can be made on the shuttle at a cost of € 6.00/person. Please visit www.amt.genova.it for further information. The Volabus stop closest to our B&B is Genova Piazza Principe station, which is a 15-minute walk from the B&B.
Alternatively, with the same Volabus ticket, from Piazza Principe you can take the subway and get off at San Giorgio stop which is 5 minutes’ walk from the B&B.

Brief History of Serra Gerace Palace
Located in di Sottoripa Street at nbr 5, the area of the historic center that extends right in front of the Porto Antico, the Palace stands on the medieval arches of the historic “Ripa Maris” and still preserves some Renaissance features including the beautiful partially loggia courtyard buffered, the balustrade marble staircase and the main floor stuccos and frescoes with the “Storie di Enea“, painted by Paolo Gerolamo Piola.
Here is how the writer Carlo Giuseppe Ratti described it in 1766: “Palazzo nobly adorned with frescoes and precious tables” including 12 paintings by Van Dyck depicting the apostles, at least 5 by Maratta, 2 by Grechetto, one by Titian, one by Tintoretto one of Snyders and 2 of the school of Rembrandt that unfortunately today are gone whereas the frescoes have remained intact.
Having been built since 1677, this Palace has never been part of the famous lists of “Rolli” of the Republic of Genoa since the last “rollo” had been published 13 years earlier. Despite this, its renovation has brought out all its beauty and from October 2016 was included in the guided tours of the historic palaces of the “Rolli” list, and in 2017 became the most visited building.
